Black Swan

Black Swan was a movie I saw in theaters, actually a couple of years ago, now. I was thinking about it, and decided to do a post on it now after watching Jupiter Ascending with Mila Kunis in it. I thought it was absolutely splendid. However, for anyone reading this that hasn't seen it yet I won't be too specific on any of the scenes. I always love scenes that turn out to be hallucinations later on, especially if no one knows that they are in fact hallucinations until a bit later in the movie as it did in this movie.
I like Mila Kunis, but despite that, I think Natelie Portman did a excellent job throughout the movie. Some of the movie seems to be what my friends Lisa and Chloe would watch, up until the part where the hallucinations and horror start. I thought the movie started off a little slow, but once it got started, it really got started. It was intense and I loved every minutes of it. Despite starting slow, I can see how the beginning was needed to set the stage for the rest of the movie and was in fact necessary for the rest of the movie.  I thought the good old fashion competion did wonders for the movie, especially how it twisted with a couple of other things. The fact that both Natalie Portman's charactor and Mila Kunis' charactor had a twisted sort of friendship; being friends and yet rivals for the same position with something else mixed in. As well as the fact that each of them had one role that they were better at than the other one. Though I think Natelie Portman's charater started taking her role as the black swan side very seriously and it started to consume her.

31 Official Trailer

I'm much anticipating the release of this movie in September. Unfortunately, I didn't see the early release of it, where ever that was... Now that there's an official trailer, I've decided to share it.

Crimson Peak

This guy looks like a vampire to me.
I just watched the trailer via twitter of Crimson Peak. I must say I am really really looking forwards to seeing it. Nothing like a haunted house of something of the sort to make a good movie. Unfortunately, we all have to wait until October to be able to watch it. At least it's going to be in 2015 rather than 2016. For anyone who is interest, you can get the official trailer for Crimson Peak here. I'm looking forwards to watching the seen with the bathtub for sure. And the scene with the casket in it. And the scene with bloody skeleton coming out from the floor. So there are lot of great scenes to look forwards to in this movie, and probably a lot more that weren't shown in the trailer. :) Ya know, I have seen a different movie with a house that was supposed to be alive. If I recall it was pretty good too. From what I can tell, the guy to the right over there, must be old then he appears. That's what  I get out of the old photographs anyways. I'll say whether that was true or not after I've seen it. See you then!

New Blog

My blog has always been about horror movies that I watch. Recently, I've been thinking about posting about a few movies that aren't horror movies. I've been wondering whether I should create an exception for those movies. Later I got to talking with my friend Adam a bit about blogging. He has a blog about food, but created a new blog to talk about restaurants. With that said,  I decided that I should start a new blog to talk about all the movies I want to talk about that aren't horror movies. My new blog will be here.

Rob Zombie and his movies part 1

I have seen a lot of Rob Zombie's movies. I believe the first movie of his I saw was Grindhouse. It was interesting, to say the least, as there were two movies, one right after the other, Planet Terror and Death Proof. I like the part that Kurt Russell played in Death Proof. He was main character so I think it really brought to the movie him being played well. I was just a little surprised at how long it took to show his character, it was about 14 or 15 minutes in. Of course, that was counting a few credits at the beginning of the movie, but , I thought it was going to show him first, rather than after a few other people. Still, I think his opening scene was good, and started off well. At about 45 minutes in, I like the way Stuntman Mike (Kurt Russell) watches the three girls red car drive off, than smirk before throwing his cigarette aside. All the deaths in the first part are well played. The second part, is.. unexpected, to say the least. The second part picks up about 12 or something months later. The movie brings in a few more girls who stop at a convenience store and catch Mike's eye. The girls drive off and end up borrowing someones car. One of the girls, Zoe Bell I think, gets on the hood of the car holding herself on with only leather belts, while her friend is driving the car at top speeds. Mike follows them. He hits them, attempting to get them in an accident. Both him and the girls end up off the road and Zoe get thrown off the car into some bushes. The first surprise, is how Zoe gets thrown, but a few minutes later turns up unharmed. The second surprise, is how Mike ends up getting beaten up at the end of the movie.
Kurt Russell centered.
This other one, Planet Terror, as I mentioned earlier, was played at the same time as Death Proof. I noted how Rose McGowan was in both of the movies. Her part was some what larger in latter of the two, compared to the former movie. The most details I remember about the movie was the zombies, thousands of them, and someone had to kill his wife because she had been turned into one. Though, a few of the main characters, including McGowan end up surviving. At the end of the movie, I think that the zombies could and should have cause more damage and deaths than they did. Two other Rob Zombies that I liked, that I have previously done posts on was Halloween I and II. Next, there is House of 1000 Corpses, which is, of course, made by Rob Zombie. What was interesting about this movie, was that if you know who is who, and/or you read the credits, you'll know that Rob Zombie made an uncredited and his wife was one of the more main characters. I just think the whole movie was wonderfully put together. With the picking up a hitchhiker, and the whole legend idea, and the car breaking down (epic!) and the whole ex-husband bit. Lots of good deaths through out the entire movie. The last movie I want to mention is, 31 the Movie, which I'm still wait for it to come out. I want it to come out soon, but I've heard they can't make a movie that fast. As they only got the funding for it just over a month ago, it probably won't be finished at least until the end of 2015, if not somewhere in 2016 or early 2017.

Friends

Today my friends and I were talking over lunch, and a friend of mine had an idea. Adam said that we (our friends that are on blogger) should each do a post about each others blogs and our friends. The rest of my friends and I quickly agreed. So here it is, my post about all my friends blogs. I know I usually do posts on movies, but let's face it, my blog can't be perfect. This was Adam's idea, so it seems right to start with him. Adam, runs a blog over at Brody's Good Eats. I'm not really sure why he used his last name in the name rather than his first name, but hey that's what he called it. I'll have to ask him... His most recent post had to do with tuna melts, if your a sandwich person, or a seafood fanatic and you like to eat that sort of thing. Another one of my friends is Chloe. She runs a blog called The Dancing Queen. The name of her site is quite short compared to her email address. It's like a third the size. She posts about parties and related things. If you know her, than you know that if there is a party going on soon, than she knows about it. If there is a party, than she is so there. She loves partying. Especially the dancing part. She does the most dancing out of anyone I know. Then, there's Amanda's blog. She has done only two posts both about a video game called Commander Keen. It's called Amanda's Dream Blog and from what I've heard she uses a lot of pictures of the levels in the game in her posts. Finally, there's my friend Lisa's blog. She owns a blog over at Rocky Mountain Lisa's blog. She talks about, well, pretty much anything. Right now she seems to be rotating between posting about relaxing and water, although I'm sure she'll be onto something new soon enough. So those are my 4 friends that are on blogger. A few others have thought about it, but none have built one yet. I finish my post about 31 the movie that I've already started when the movie comes out.
